My husband came up with this idea a few years ago, lets learn to scuba dive! My immediate response was fear fear and more fear, no way! So a few years go by and I realize we usually do what I want to do, and the least I could do was try it. So we signed up for a "Try Scuba" class down at Rogue Aquatics (local dive shop) and went on down and gave it a go. It went pretty well, which I was uncomfortable and fearful, it actually went better than expected. After some thought I asked if we could do it again, so I could go into it feeling more confident and know more about what I was getting into and maybe feel more comfortable. The second time went great! I felt much more at east and agreed to take the certification class...however not till summer as I was not doing an open dive in the river in Oregon in the winter...NO WAY!!
So we signed up for July's class, figured we would be certified in August just in time for our September cruise out of New Orleans to Cozumel, Belize and Roatan. Class went well, four weeks some in the seat time each class and then some in the pool practice time. August was here before we knew it and we were out at the Illinois River getting certified. 5 dives over 2 days. It was exhausting but amazing. Our instructors Eric, Andy, and Dana were amazing. We had great dives and felt ready for the "next step"
September came before we knew it and off to New Orleans we went. This blog will also talk about the cruises and trips we take as well, so your gonna see some non-scuba related stuff.
Thanks for reading
